The Shorn Lamb

WITH EVER GROWING RECOGNITION for his compelling works of 'mans struggle for survival’, in 2016 Lorimer encountered his own struggles while researching his next project. Lorimer writes, “I wanted to create a series that focused on the difficulties man faces navigating the beautiful yet harsh Canadian winter landscape”. A chance discovery of the proverb - “God tempers the wind to the shorn lamb” was the porthole he was searching for. Here the ‘shorn lamb’, represented by the lone figure in each work, is the ‘weak' or 'less fortunate' and the ‘shelter' or 'beacon of light' is the tempered wind.
